When the editorial office contacted me girlfriend Magazine For the 10/2026 issue (04/15/2026) on the topic "The Big Flea Market Guide," I was asked for my tips as a negotiation expert, which at first made me chuckle.
Finally, my work involves significantly more complex and demanding negotiations – whether between companies, in strategic procurement and sales negotiations, internationally, or in difficult internal conflicts of interest.
But then I thought, why not? 🧐
Because that's precisely where the core of the topic lies. Negotiations don't just happen in the conference room. We negotiate every day – often unconsciously and far more often than we realize. In a professional context with clients, suppliers, colleagues, or managers. In our private lives with partners, children, or friends. On vacation. And yes, even at flea markets. 🤩
The mechanisms are surprisingly similar: understanding interests, recognizing room for maneuver, communicating skillfully, creating added value, and reaching a good agreement.
That's why I was very happy to participate in this post and contribute my perspective on negotiating in the flea market context. 😊

Perhaps the tips will help you on your next flea market visit. 🥳 Or maybe you'll recognize one or two parallels to your professional negotiations.
Because good negotiators don't just train their skills during big negotiations—they do it in everyday life. 😉
